Tim Collins and his wife Ava started Collin’s Tile and Stone back in 1984, but their experience dates even further back.

In the company’s infancy, Tim and Ava operated their business out of their home garage. Since then, Collins Tile and Stone has emerged as the superior tile and stone company for Lubbock and the greater South Plains. Featuring a show room for your convenience, professional installers, and an experienced staff that will make your next project pleasant and successful.

In 1988, Collins Tile and Stone approached their first large scale residential stone project. After they started providing both tile and stone solutions Collins Tile and Stone rapidly started to develop, and the demand for a larger, more suitable location arose.

In 1998 Collins Tile and Stone relocated from Tim and Ava’s garage, to their current location at 4715 Clovis Highway. As their demand for stone projects increased so did their need for equipment that would increase both quality and productivity.

In 2000, Collins Tile and Stone purchased a Gravellona Macchine Marmo (GMM) Bridge Saw. The bridge saw benefited Collins Tile and Stone by providing more consistent cuts and the added benefit of increased productivity.

The demand for equipment arose again. And in 2000, Collins Tile and Stone invested in a Straight Line Polisher.
    
In 2003, Collins Tile and Stone made an investment in a CNC machine. The CNC machine gave Collins Tile and Stone the edge they needed, literally. CNC is an abbreviation for Computer Numerical Control. The CNC machine radically changed the way Collins Tile and Stone fabricated and produced their stone. The CNC machine uses coordinates gathered by a device and configured using a CAD system. These coordinates can than be used by the CNC machine to automatically produce intricate shapes with increased accuracy and speed over conventional hand methods.

With the use of Collins Tile and Stone’s CNC machine, the ability to provide many different profiles and patterns for the edges of your stone increased. Now many different combinations of polishes and edges affordably exist for your next project.

The advances that Collins Tile and Stone made considerably improved both the consistency and quality of the products they provide. Now, Collins Tile and Stone has emerged as the superior tile and stone company for Lubbock and the greater South Plains.
